게쉬탈트Gestalt
나의 작업은 기하학적인 조형언어인 ‘선(Line)’에 기초하여 비어있는 공간 안에 추상적인 이미지를 구상하고, 그것을 가시적으로 구현하는 방식을 기반으로 한다. 그러한 선들에 의해 공간이 분할되고, 각각의 공간은 독립된 개별성과 다양성을 동시에 구축해 나가며, 이미지에 움직임을 부여한다.
이번 제부도 아트파크 설치미술 전시 <게쉬탈트(Gestalt)>는 ‘전체는 부분의 합 이상’이라는 의미를 가진 게쉬탈트(Gestalt) 개념을 건축적 공간의 선들에 접목한 전시이다. 실제적으로 공간 안에서는 끊어져 있는 선이라도 선들의 방향을 연상하게 되어 이어진 선으로 인식하게 되며, 실제적으로는 ‘면’이지만 보는 시점에 따라 ‘선’으로 인식되기도 하며, 서로 비슷한 형태끼리 그룹핑을 이루며 유사성과 방향성으로 인식되면서 기존의 선 이상의 것들을 느끼게 되는 공간을 의도하였다.
My work is based on the idea of isualizing an abstract image in an empty space and implementing it visually based on the geometrical form language 'Line'. The space is divided by such lines, and each space establishes independent individuality and diversity at the same time, and gives motion to the image.
The installation at the Jebudo Art Park(JAP), an art exhibition <Gestalt>, is an exhibition that combines the concept of Gestalt, which means " The whole is more than sum of parts", into the lines of architectural space. Actually, even if the lines were broken in space, they are perceived as the lines that are reminiscent of the direction of the lines. Actually, they were 'planes' but they were recognized as 'lines' depending on the point of view, and I intended a space that would feel more than the existing lines being recognized as similarities and directions by grouping together in similar shapes.
